1. Does McDonald’s SCM endorse/support the Supplier Network (SN)? How will the SN ensure alignment with McDonald's SCM?
Yes! Mike Butkus has endorsed the development of this independent network of suppliers. The McDonald’s SCM team will stay informed, engaged and aligned through comprehensive updates with the SN executive board.
2. What is the difference between the Supplier Advisory Committee (SAC) and the Supplier Network (SN)?
The primary differences between the SN and the SAC are membership, governance and intent. The SN encourages all suppliers to participate and learn from each other. While the SN is endorsed by McDonald’s, it is governed and supported solely by suppliers. In contrast, the SAC plays a key advisory role directly to the McDonald’s system. SAC membership is by invitation and is governed by McDonald’s.
3. How will the Supplier Network provide value to the system?
The SN will add value to the McDonald’s system by strengthening the links in the Supply Chain. There is a wealth of knowledge and information available that can be leveraged across the system by those who have demonstrated achievement in the area. By building, elevating and leveraging knowledge, the SN will work to provide quality, informational events and educational opportunities that respond directly to the needs and requests of the membership, such as talent elevation, sustainability and SPI.
